Peony has light brown skin, blue eyes, and curly pink hair; as Unikitty, she wears a blue and white wig (with pink cat ears attached because why not).

Origin story: Peony grew up near Chicago with her father; her powers first started to manifest when she was about twelve years old; even at that point, the idea of superhero work appealed strongly to her (it definitely influenced her getting into gymnastics and even sewing [superheroes need costumes, right?]), and the appearance of her powers really pushed the idea forward in her mind. However, at her father's request, she agreed to wait until she was old enough to join the Great Lakes Trailblazers before attempting any actual crimefighting.

As it turned out, being in the Great Lakes Trailblazers wasn't all that exciting, as Chicago didn't actually have much in the way of supervillain activity. Though she would have preferred to have more to actually do, that was kind of the least of Peony's problems at the moment, as it was not long after joining that she was suspended from school over a brief but violent altercation with another student. After that incident, her dad started to consider the possibility that Peony really would benefit from a more active outlet.

The final straw was in her junior year, when she was actually expelled after a few more incidents of violence, including biting someone once. She insisted that it wouldn't happen again, that this was just a one two four-time thing, but nobody really believed that; at the same time, her involvement in the Trailblazers was jeopardized by her apparent tendency for sudden bursts of overly-brutal violence. The eventual agreement was that it may really be best for her to transfer to the West Coast Trailblazers, with the theory that the higher concentration of supervillains would act as a more effective emotional outlet (which she pretty clearly needed, whether or not she'll admit it).

Personality: Peony firmly believes that she can accomplish anything (almost literally) by remaining optimistic and cheerful at all times. Most of the time, she's bubbly and friendly, sometimes to the point of being kind of overwhelming, especially to people who are not inclined to be all that happy themselves. She may do this on purpose - not annoying them, that is, but being extra relentlessly cheerful in the hopes that it will rub off on them somehow. She means well, really, she just actually has no idea how people work.

She is very loyal to people she considers friends, even if she's not sure that what they're trying to convince her to do is actually that good an idea. She has enough of a sense of justice to be able to pull out of situations that she can tell she disagrees with morally, but that's not to say that she couldn't be manipulated pretty easily for a while if someone were enough of a jerk to put their mind to doing that, and she will almost definitely follow along with her friends' ridiculous schemes that have no chance of working (though she will certainly do so in her own ridiculous, rainbow-splattered way), with the assumption that they will work because she has to THINK POSITIVE!!!

Speaking of which. Obviously, "thinking positive" can only get you so far, but try telling Peony that. Of course, there are times when stress and anger and frustration build up too much and she can't just keep on skipping through life like it's a field of flowers. Sometimes this issue will pop up just briefly, in a momentary glare or a sudden shout, but she usually stomps it down an instant later, as if nothing happened. Even if she can't avoid the problem that easily, she will definitely keep trying, diverting her thoughts to more positive topics, but she just can't keep this crud up forever.

When Peony does actually snap, it's usually not without cause. It takes a lot to force her to lose control, but when she does, it's pretty explosive (considering she's probably venting a few weeks' worth of negative emotion in the span of a few minutes). Depending on under what circumstances it happens and what causes it, her behavior in this state can range from shouting to brutal violence, but it's just about guaranteed to be rather excessive in any case.

That's not to say that her actions are actually aimless or that she has no control over her what she does or says, since she is responding directly to whatever source of negative emotion set her off to begin with. She probably won't have as good of aim, and she may come off harsher than she would normally intend to, but she's not going to randomly attack her friends or punch children in the face or something, and depending on the exact situation, she may not even regret her behavior afterward (except for the fact that she lost control of her emotions at all).

In short, she's a mess of an individual and she really needs to admit that and accept that anger is a thing that people experience and bottling it up isn't healthy, but she has yet to show any real signs of actually doing that.

Differences from canon: Not a weird cat thing made of LEGOs, or a literal princess; rather than being able to build things out of random pieces of junk, she creates her own objects (albeit simpler ones) out of light.


Power level: C-class
Powers: Hard-light constructs (used to make the weapons or floating "steps" that she uses in combat) or soft-light holograms (usually just used for decoration, such as the unicorn horn on her circlet); she can form just about anything she wants, within limits. Larger, more complex, or more solid objects take more time and more effort to create and maintain.

Though not actually a superpower, she has done gymnastics for years and has some basic combat training.

i used to be in great lakes so i already know some ☆superhero stuff☆, but ive never been to la so thats gonna be new!(^・ω・^)♪♫ im really looking forward to meeting everyone♥☼! i hope we can all be friends!!!
